Destination Life

What is life really.

It is more than breath in our bodies.

There are many people who are physically or medically alive who are not living in the fullness of life as the creator of life intended it.

Think of the people around you in your world.  Is their life enriched or hampered.

Jesus came to bring life in all it’s fullness. But what is this meant to look like.

He is the essence of life.  He lived his life unchained by sickness, dysfunction, and lack of purpose.

He lived His life aware from a young age of His purpose on this planet.  His whole life was set on course for that purpose.  The decisions He made as a human aligned with that purpose.  There was not one solitary action on His part that took Him on a detour from His purpose.

This had a huge impact on the fullness of life He enjoyed.  Because He never had to recover from mistakes, sickness, suffer from insecurities, rebuilt His self-esteem, or be concerned if He was truly loved.  All this He knew, and therefore simply moved forward into His destiny – empowered with the fullness of life.

I believe it is our God given right to walk into this same fullness of life.

How do we do this.  As we are not God like Jesus Christ.  We are frail human beings.  But yet Jesus said –

“I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.”  John 10:10b (The Message)

How can we have this life that is better than we could even dream of?   Some of us are living a nightmare, how can we experience this God-dream life?

It starts with trusting our creator with our life.  One thing I have learned through my experience with the Eating Disorder, was that when I insisted on managing my own problem myself and would not trust anyone including God to help me I

almost perished.

One of the simplest and yet at times hardest of all things for some people to do, is to learn to trust our creator with our life.  In that place of complete trust, there can be turmoil all around, but peace that takes us by the hand through it.

I have found since my miraculous recovery, that God is doing a much better job at managing my life, that I was doing during the ED.  Yes it does take courage to trust - but you (like me) may have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

If you don’t know Jesus personally and would like to know more about receiving Him as your Saviour, starting out on your new journey of life in all it’s fullness, we would love to hear from you, or simply pray this prayer below.

“Dear Jesus,

I want to be a Christian, and have you as my Lord.  I am sorry for not trusting you with my life.  I know that you accept me with love and forgiveness.  Please come into my life and be my Lord, and start me on this new road with you to the fullness of life you offer me.  Thank you for loving me.

Amen".

Our Broken World

staying informed so we can be of help

In the last 3 months in Brazil 6 young women died of Anorexia   in quick succession.  The modelling world in particular in Brazil has become fixated with this deadly disease.

As many as 3.5 Million people in the USA experience homelessness in a given year (that is approx 842,000 in a given week).

Approx 15 million children under 18 years globally have been orphaned as a result of AIDS.

The Birth of Life in me.

You saw me before this world

in your eyes so great

You knew your dream for me

You held that dream in your heart

I came into this world

a child so small

and grew

you watched me still

As I grew

Although alive

breathing

I struggled to live your full life

Some days I felt alive and awake in your

wonderful life

Yet other months & years

I felt trapped in pain

I wanted to be loosed from the coma life that

was mine

But how can I wake myself

My only hope was your mercy would awaken

me

In your perfect time

Not early or late

You breathed your life

 into me

Resuscitating me from the death that was

mine

Now alive I stand by your love

No longer controlled by pain

in love with you

Reviving, restoring, renewing me

Calling me into all you dreamed for me

Wooing me

with your mercy to

break the spell

that held my heart

Slowly I emerged

from my death cocoon

into the beautiful swanlike creature

You always saw

This God life helps me

see others

I can help

To love, to believe with you

for them to emerge from

the jails that bind them

into all you dream they will be

I want to be an advocate of your life

It is not enough

that you gave it to me

to live

I must share this with

my

broken world.
